Hello Everyone,

July 2009 marks the 30th Anniversary of the album "Breakfast in America" and it's amazing how current so many of these classic songs still are today.  We travel around the world and all over we still hear Logical Song, Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home, and let's not forget, Give a Little Bit (from Even in the Quietest Moments), being played on the radio.  The strong melodies as well as the meaningful lyrics seem to resonate with people of all cultures.  Roger is very grateful and feels blessed to realize that his voice and songs have made a difference in so many people's lives. (Please feel free to drop him a line on his guestbook if you are one of those who is touched by his music.)

There are many tributes planned by fans to celebrate the Anniversary.  I know Mick, in Ireland, has put together a special radio tribute which will air soon, and David is cooking up something as well, although to date he has kept it a secret.  Anyway, congratulations to Roger for the legacy of music he has given to all of us.

Congratulations also go out to Roger for his DVD Take the Long Way Home, Live in Montreal.  After a third sold-out concert at French OLYMPIA music-hall in Paris, Roger received on July 7, 2009 from Eagle Vision a Gold DVD to celebrate more than 7.500 DVD units of "Take the Long Way Home" sold in France (certified by SNEP).

"There is a long lasting love affair between Roger's songs and the French audience.  But I'm sure that L'OLYMPIA had never experienced hundreds of fans singing 'It's raining again' with an open umbrella in their theatre before!" said Philippe Gondouin, manager of the French Eagle Vision office on the evening Roger was presented the award.

Roger would like to thank everyone who wrote in expressing condolences in respect to his Mother's recent passing. He was quite emotional at the funeral service and paid tribute to her for always standing beside him and giving him confidence and inspiration growing up to fulfill his dreams.

Roger's touring is not over for '09, so if you have not seen him yet, or want to come again, check out his tour page for his latest concert dates.  He still has about 25 shows left and will be in France, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Belguim, and Canada.

I hear there is a group of fans gathering for his Aachen, Germany orchestra show on August 22.  It should be fun!

Cheers,

Linda
