Another two sell outs in musician Roger Hodgson's mainstay of Montreal. The roar of the audience's appreciation after songs such as "Hide In Your Shell" and "Dreamer" is absolutely deafening! What is it with Montreal where everyone is so hooked with these songs? There might as well be a sign affixed to the top of the stage that reads "Welcome to the Church of Hodgson!"
Perhaps the fine people of Montreal are not fooled, several months ago, Supertramp rolled into the Bell Centre and even with stellar muscianship they attempted to recreate seven of Hodgson's songs. It might be worth mentioning that these songs did get them the biggest ovations of the night, however the group totally missed the warmth and feel that their creator bestowed onto each and every one of them.

How many artists cannot actually start their show because the audience is giving them a standing ovation? That was the pleasure that met Roger tonight... the crowd went wild with an enthusiastic roar as soon as Roger walked on to the stage. Eventually Roger got to strike the first chord and play the introduction that so many fans recognise...'Take the Long Way Home' got us up and running. Roger then took the first of several opportunities to describe the mutual love and respect that is very palpable in Montreal.
'School' was swiftly followed by 'In Jeopardy'. This song has taken on such a rich quality with contributions from all band members making this a stand out number. Roger then proceeds to describe how 'Hide in your Shell' was written when he was experiencing troubled times and explains how this resonates with many who write to tell him how this song has ...
