En segundo lugar, llegaría la dulce ‘Give a little bit’, seguida por ‘Lovers in the wind’, ‘Hide in your shell’, ‘Easy does it’, ‘Sister moonshine’, y ‘Rosie had everything planned’.

Más tarde, llegarían clásicos como la inolvidable ‘Breakfast in America’, ‘The more I look’ o ‘Lord is it mine’ para llegar a la melancólica y maravillosa ‘Even in the quietest moments’.

“Roger Hodgson performs a luxury show in Cordoba Guitar Festival”

Posted in Spanish web “Festivales”

July 18th 2008

Yesterday was one of most expected days of Cordoba Guitar Festival 2008, with the performance of Roger Hodgson, the great founder of the mythical British band Supertramp.

Showing his British identity, the artist appeared on La Axerquia stage at half past eleven o’clock, in the middle of the clamour from thousands of concert goers who were impatiently waiting for him.

After introducing the show in Spanish (“Tonight I’ll play the songs I’ve written during my trip through my life. I love these songs and I hope you love them too. Please sing with me and let me give a little bit of my love to you”), Roger started to play the first notes of ‘Take the long way home,’ a classic song from his former band that also give its name to his first DVD.

That was just the prelude of all the things that came later in an intimate show (he is just accompanied by Aaron MacDonald, his inseparable saxophonist) which included lots of songs from the legendary band founded by Richard Davies and Roger Hodgson.

The second song was the sweet ‘Give a little bit,’ followed by ‘Lovers in the wind,’ ‘Hide in your shell,’ ‘Easy does it,’ ‘Sister moonshine,’ and ‘Rosie had everything planned.’ Then came one of the magical moments of the concert, when the keyboards started to play the famous melody of ‘The logical song’, unsurpassable and masterfully performed.

Later came some hits like the unforgettable ‘Breakfast in America,’ ‘The more I look,’ ‘Lord is it mine,’ or the melancholic and wonderful ‘Even in the quietest moments.’

And finally was the turn of a luxury trio which closed a spectacle that many of us will never forget: the prophetic ‘Don’t leave me now’ (the song he used to say goodbye to Supertramp from the stage in 1983), the incredible ‘Dreamer,’ and the exciting ‘It’s raining again’.
