Drei Millionen beim Wiener Donauinselfest


Nach dem wetterbedingten Zuschauerrückgang im vergangenen Jahr kamen zur 27. Ausgabe des Wiener Donauinselfests vom 25. bis 27. Juni wieder rund drei Millionen Besucher. Im Vorjahr waren zwei Millionen auf das Festival gekommen, das die veranstaltende SPÖ als das größte europäische Open-Air bezeichnet. 2008 hatten die Veranstalter wie in diesem Jahr drei Millionen Gäste gezählt.



Three million of the Vienna Danube Island Festival


After the fall weather came viewers last year to 27th Edition of the Viennese Danube Island Discover of 25 to 27 June again some three million visitors. Last year two million had come to the festival, which specifies the largest organizing SPÖ as the European Open-Air. 2008, the organizers had counted as this year three million people. 


On Friday night, 600,000 people flocked to the artificial island of the Danube, the Saturday designated with well over a million people, the organizers as the andrangsstärksten in the history of the festival. Also on Sunday once again took more than a million the way to the ground several kilometers long. 


Among the musical highlights were the performances of Roger Hodgson, Amy Macdonald, Adam Green, the Seern, Rainhard Fendrich, Paul van Dyk, Nik P., Billy Idol, Supermax, the Dubliners, Kim Wilde, The Disco Boys, Minisex, Anna F ., Stereo Total, Culcha Candela, Aura Dione, Pendulum and Milow. 


Very well received was the new farmer-schnaps.at hits and folk music stage, which were booked for, inter alia, Nik P., Andy Borg, Petra Frey, Nockalm the quintet, and the Edlseer Marilena Martinelli.
