Roger Hodgson intima amb el públic del Prat del Roure

El cantant fa un repàs als èxits de Supertramp davant unes 700 persones
Roger Hodgson, veu d’una de les bandes mítiques del rock britànic, va passar anit per la sala escaldenca del Prat del Roure, per oferir el promès concert intimista i nostàlgic.
Unes set-centes persones es van donar cita al Prat del Roure (a falta de les dades definitives que aporti el recompte de taquilla) per sintonitzar amb Roger Hodgson. No va fer falta ampliar l’aforament de la sala, com havia previst el comú que es podria fer si la demanda de localitats hagués estat major, però l’inici del concert va deixar ben clar que el públic estava disposat a entusiasmar-se amb la proposta de l’excomponent de Supetramp.
Hodgson, acompanyat només per un altre músic, va fer una repassada pels temes mítics de la banda que va fundar (amb Rick Davies) el 1969, i en la qual va romandre fins al 1983. Cançons com The Logical Song, Dreamer, School o Breakfast in America, d’entre les més conegudes del repertori de Supertramp, solen formar part del programa dels seus concerts, en versió més reduïda o acompanyat d’una banda. Barrejades amb les dels quatre discos que ha publicat en solitari (In the Eye of the Storm, Hai Hai, Rites of Passage i Open the door) i alguna que encara no ha enregistrat, com Teache me to Love Again, però que podria formar part de l’àlbum que està preparant, tot i que encara no té cap data prefixada per a la sortida al mercat.
Hodgson havia promès un concert intimista, un espectacle de sintonia amb el públic, que fos “el d’un home feliç, amb la seva música”. I per subratllar la calidesa en la comunicació que pretenia establir, va demanar una escenografia peculiar: un escenari ple de plantes i amb el sòl cobert de catifes.
La tornada als escenaris d’un home tranquil
La gira que ha portat Hodgson a Escaldes és la de la tornada del músic als escenaris, després d’una llarga temporada allunyat del primer pla del món de la música. El cantant britànic va deixar Supertramp en un moment àlgid de la seva trajectòria, just després de la gira de presentació del disc premonitòriament titulat Famous Last Words. Després es va retirar a Los Angeles, on va fer edificar una casa-estudi per viure una vida tranquil·la, dedicat a la seva família.
Hodgson mai no ha trencat relacions amb Davies i altres exmembres de Supertramp (algun l’ha acompanyat en els concerts en solitari) i els innombrables fans confien que sigui signe del retorn de la banda.

Singer provides an overview of the achievements with Supertramp to 700 people
Roger Hodgson, singer from one of the legendary British rock bands, was last night at the Prat del Roure auditorium, to deliver the promised intimate and nostalgic concert.
Some seven hundred people gathered in Prat del Roure auditorium to tune in with Roger Hodgson. There was no need to expand the capacity of the hall, but the beginning of the concert made it clear that the audience was willing to go on with the proposal of the ex-component of Supertramp.
Hodgson, accompanied only by another musician, made a spot for mythical themes of the band he founded (with Rick Davies) in 1969, and where he remained until 1983. Songs like The Logical Song, Dreamer,School and Breakfast in America, among the best known of the repertoire of Supertramp, usually part of their concerts in smaller version or with a band. Mixed with those from the four albums he has released solo (In the Eye of the Storm, Hai Hai, Rites of Passage and Open the door) as well as the song he has not yet registered Teach me to love again, but that could be part of the album that is being prepared, although it has no release date yet.
Hodgson had promised an intimate concert, a show of harmony with the public, it was "the concert of a happy man, with his music." And to emphasize the warmth in the communication that was intended to establish, he sets a peculiar scenery: a stage filled with plants and the floor covered with carpets.
The return to the stage of a quiet man
The tour that brought Roger Hodgson to Escaldes (Andorra) is the return of the musician to the stage after a long period away from the foreground of the music. The British singer left Supertramp at a height of their career, just after the premonition album entitled Famous Last Words. Then he turned back to Los Angeles, where he built a home studio to live a quiet life devoted to his family.
Hodgson has never broken relations with Davies and other ex-members of Supertramp (Some of whom have accompanied him in specific concerts) and many fans believe that the return is signed by the band.
