Dear Roger, My name is Al and I am a Police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted police in New Brunswick Canada. I wanted to thank you with the positive influence you made in my live. The song Give a little bit, was a turning point in my life and because of it, now I have a great career and a great familly. It seems like I known you all my life. I am only 39 years old but still go back in my life and thing about you as a personal friend. Thank you Roger and please come to New Brunswick. I would be here for you my friend. God bless and remember that you have a Mountie friend here. |

Hello, I am a huge fan of Roger since his Supertramp days and in my opinion, he was the heart and soul of the band. I always wondered why we never heard more of Supertramp after their breakfast in America album. Only just now did I think to look it up on internet and found out about Roger's reasons for leaving the band for his family life. I was very happy to find out that he has gone back to touring and especially in Europe, I was heartbroken to learn that I had missed Roger's 2002 tour in Italy. I and many other big fans of his would like to solicit a new tour also of Italy, we would love to see him back here. I listened to the Malta radio interview, it brought back memories as I lived in Malta for 4 years too and it was neat to hear the language again and see that Roger is also appreciated there. No other musician/songwriter that I have ever heard has been able to touch our hearts like Roger's unique blend of angel-like voice and musical sensibility. The world needs more Roger in it! Very touching also are Roger's efforts in the Tsunami relief fund. Having listened to Roger speak in the Malta interview, both my wife and I can say that he is person that we would really love to meet and get to know for his great sensibilty and humanity and wit. Please do your all to bring Roger back to Italy, to Rome especially, where we live. Italy loves and misses Roger.... thank you, |

Dear Roger, It has been said a thousand times by the many friends you have in the world and I want to add my voice to it! I've grown up with your music and your lyrics even guided me through difficult situations. You can put down in a few words the desires, fears and loneliness we sometimes feel but at the same time you give consolation and peace to the worried mind. Thank you for that. I've seen you perform in Munich a couple of years ago and had the chance to say hi to you after the show. This was very inspiring for me and I wonder if meeting you again would be possible at all in Schwetzingen? Yet I am perfectly aware that many of your friends would like to meet you and I understand if it is to stressful for you. I will be very happy to see you perform live, anyway and I hope you'll have a wonderful time in Germany. |
Hello Roger: I've been a fan for years and wrote you a letter way back when I was in the monastery! You wrote a lovely reply. I've recently started to listen to my vinyl collection on a very nice system and have enjoyed hearing your philosophy and music again which were so instrumental in my spiritual journey. I live up in Portland, OR now. If you ever come up this way again, give a shout. You'll be welcome in my home as a guest and we'll talk music and life. Hope you are well. |
I will never forget the moment that I was a 14 year old kid and was in the first row in the Carre Theatre in Amsterdam to see Roger and Supertramp. The Crime of the Century record was just released at that time. After that, I have been to many concerts by other artists but never felt the "touch" that I felt on that evening in Amsterdam. It was magical!! Thank you Roger for what you have given me in your music. I read Roger's bio and saw that he lives in California. Roger, thank you again for what you have given me in/with your music and I will see you at Bospop in the Netherlands!! All the best, |
Please, Please, Please for the sake of all mankind will you please send Roger back to Oklahoma. We need to see him….Thanks |
Roger Is there any chance of you ever playing a live gig in the UK again? I am a Supertramp and Roger Hodgson fan of 20 years. I have seen Supertramp live, they were very good. Your musical influence has even made me take up the guitar (electric and more recently 12 string acoustic for "Give a Little Bit!) - even got my 10 yr old playing it! “Give a little bit” and give us Hodgson fans a UK gig to look forward to. Hope you are well. |
I just heard “Open the Door” this afternoon. It's really nice!!! I look forward to hear new albums |
Dear Roger I just want to say how inspiring you are as a musical talent. You lit up the stage for the Ringo Allstars and I am a brand new fan !! Pease come to Oz one day |
Hello Roger - I just want to know if you are ever planning to do another US tour. I saw your show at the Showbox Theater in Seattle in April 1998. I will never forget that night. My friends and I wrote down the title of every song you played on the paper tablecloth. After the show, my friend Rob talked his way backstage (although I did not know this) and you graciously autographed the tablecloth. Rob presented it to me after we left the hall and I just burst into tears. I still have it. It is very special to me in more ways than one. I moved back to Boise in 2000 for work. That August I received a phone call that my friend Rob had been murdered in a home invasion robbery. I flew up for the funeral. They played "It's Raining Again" (Rob's favorite song) during the service. So, every time I hear that song it slowly heals my heart. Thank you Roger for your gift of music. God bless and take care |
Dear Roger I just want to thank you for composing the song “Lovers In The Wind.” I have liked it since 1985 when I was only 5 years old. Thanks Deep Peace. |
Roger, I'm not sure you're gonna read this, but I'd like to thank you for your music and love. I could always feel in it. I've passed too many and long nights listening and feeling the messages and the music. Actually I've learned ( but not so good ) English, in order to understand it. Thank you and your friends from the band so, so much!!!! |
I would just like to write a quick email to Roger to thank him for all the pleasure he has given me in the last 30 years!! I discovered his website as recently as yesterday and I had a most enjoyable time navigating around and watching the videos. I was handed a tape called Crime of the Century back in 1975 when I was in Gormanston College boarding school and therein began my love of Supertramp and in particular Roger Hodgson. That voice has thrilled me for the last 30 years. Indeed as I look at the floor of my study, and the ‘debris’ scattered around the place, there holding pride of place on the floor is Crisis What Crisis. There is always a Roger Hodgson CD in my car as I tell my passengers, “just listen to that voice!!!” I would love to see Roger in concert!!! I went to see Supertramp twice in the last 2 years approx. at the start and end of their last World Tour. Enjoyed it immensely BUT “it ain’t the same” without Roger Hodgson. Roger, once again many many thanks for all the pleasure and please keep on composing. as ever. |
I’m from Sydney, Australia, and I just wanted to drop you a line to congratulate you for your success over the years, and salute you for your work with the Tsunami disaster. I’m a longtime Supertramp fan, and love your solo albums as well. Anyway, I wish you continued success, and thank you for all the pleasure you’ve brought me over the years. |
Roger — “Give a Little Bit” has been a favorite song of mine since I first heard it in 1977. It’s been a special joy to me, a gift in good times and bad, ever since. I think it’s wonderful that I hear this song every time I turn on the TV or radio (in one version or another). Thanks for this blessing. Please tour America again soon!!!! |
Roger your heart is beautiful, your heart is good. The Lord has given you a great purpose in this short life. May the love of Jesus always come from your heart and flow into the wonderful music that you share with us. I wish you all the best and am willing to help in anyway I can. |
I would just like to say THANK YOU for all that you have done for the Tsunami tragedy. I don’t think anyone was surprised when Roger stepped up to the plate for this one and made such a generous offering of his song. I always got a wonderful feeling whenever I listened to his music but now when I hear that song, it just brightens up everything. It makes you feel like you can make a difference and that even the smallest of gestures that a person makes can make a difference somewhere. Thank you Roger for being the human being that you are, you remind all of us to continue on being a good person. |
Hello Roger. |
I’m a grandparent and it’s been so wonderful to hear “Give a Little Bit” several times a day on the Cartoon Network. It’s been so touching to see my grandkids humming along with “Give a Little Bit” — Roger’s songs are reaching the 3rd generation across the globe. And by the way, the Cartoon Network is great for adults, too — I have to admit I love it, they have all my old favorites like Tom & Jerry. And the PSA is great, I love hearing all the different versions, seeing all the different artists that appeal to all different kinds of young people singing “Give a Little Bit” with all their hearts. And of course my favorite is Roger’s – his voice just sends me into a higher dimension, he’s got so much heart in his performance. I’m so happy that my grandkids have gotten to know him, too. |

I always loved your music as well as Supertramp. I am glad to know that you are supporting solidarity and brotherhood in the world. Let me know about your initiatives. |
Thanks for Roger’s whole work! It’s very excitimg to follow his path; phenomenal how the lyrics of Roger’s early years get weight now. My children and me know all the songs very well. I have six, my husband is already gone, and there is work for me around the clock, but Roger’s songs in my ears, lyrics in my mind and smile in my heart help me to feel closer to the all-embracing love which gives me the power I need and enables us to share always a smile. All the best to Roger! |
The song “Give a Little Bit” is perfect for that, I heard the new version with orchestra and choir! It is wonderful! Roger’s talent and voice has no ending!!! With peace and love from Chile. |
What a fantastic gesture from such a fantastic man. Having now seen him twice (Supertramp ’79 & ’83) I would now love the opportunity to take my boys to see him (Hamish 6 & Fergus 5) who are also ardent fans. “Open the Door” is their favorite. Hopefully one day, not too distant, Roger will come back to Glasgow. Let’s hope that Roger has “Opened the Door” once and for all to show all mankind how to proceed. Let’s all “Give a Little Bit”; it doesn’t need to be money. |
We are joined together by the Tsunami disaster. |
Tell Roger Hodgson that he is my hero, God bless him everywhere he goes. |
It would be great if his song were to be promoted in Mexico, as already many people here know the great life journey (path) of Roger. Many thanks to Roger for his spirit of helpfulness and may the great architect of the Universe (God) continue to give him more. |
Roger’s interpretation of GALB was just what I needed on this Sunday morning. When I read about the “going home” meaning going to a place within ourselves that’s happy and peaceful, it brought tears. That’s what I felt when I heard the song at fifteen. Beautiful. Thanks. |
Thank you so much for being the giving and caring person that you are. You have touched so many lives, and I am ever grateful to know of you and of your music. Love to you. |
I am very proud to hear people wanting to help others. Supertramp was, is, and will be a part of my life. I want to say thank you Roger for your efforts and keep playing, singing and composing till the last day of your life. Come to Argentina please, I am 40 now and I deserve to see you at least once in life. Let me now how can I send funds for tsunami victims, thank you very much. |
Dear Roger, it was wonderful seeing you on TV singing “Give a Little Bit” with the animated picture of the child feeling sad & then sending out her heart to the world. And I love seeing your message to the kids that you put up on KidsHelpOut.org — thank you for reaching out with your care, your music and your words to help them. |
Really love this song, And I've been hoping to see you on stage in Iceland since the first time I heard “School” back in ’74, hope my dream, and many other Icelander’s will come true one day !! Keep up your good work. |
You are the best in the world for me. |
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed Roger’s show in Kitchener. Enjoyed is quite an understatement as I feel it is one of the finest shows I’ve seen! The arrangements were superb, and Roger was in fine voice. It was so moving to hear “Hide In Your Shell” and “Lord Is It Mine” orchestrally. (The man seated next to me actually had tears!) Also, I found Roger to be everything I had always imagined. Polite, humble and remarkably able to invigorate those wonderful songs with a freshness as if they had just been written! It must have been difficult to choose from the deep and musically significant catalogue of such a legendary writer and performer. You are to be commended! So, thanks again for working to provide myself and so many others a concert experience they will cherish always! Congratulations and all the best! |
Bravo! What a great song (and message) for this relief effort. I do hope it draws help and gives hope to those poor souls who need it so very much. What’s more, this song is a good example of how we should live our lives each day...not just in times of tragedy. Thank you Roger! |
Yes I am interested to help in the infusion of Roger’s “Give a Little Bit”. Here in my country, there are many people who need smiles. I want to send a smile, and of course, Roger you send a smile. Please Roger, I can collaborate here in Colombia in radio and television fund for the AIDS and tsunami people affected here. I want to say that Roger Hodgson is the best artist of all time. He is a great musician, songwriter and singer in the history of the music. |
I’ll send a little smile to show that I care! For many people, Supertramp and Roger Hodgson may be a distant memory, but their music will never be forgotten. “Give A Little Bit” is such a warm-hearted and positive song and the perfect anthem to this tragic occasion. Hopefully, the song can bring a little light back to many hearts and contribute to raise a lot of money to those children and families who lost everything they owned and cared for. Great initiative, Roger Hodgson. You’re the man! |
Roger, many of your fans including myself have for long wanted to connect with you and your music. However, doing such type of volunteer work for tsunami relief efforts and other similar projects may be so far the best vehicle to fulfill this desire for connection. |
Dear Roger, I know you have a good heart, you always have. It has always shone through in your music, which I have been following for many years now. I have also helped raise money for the unfortunate people affected by the disaster. I send my blessings to them, and to you. I still hope to meet you one day. Thank you for entering my life and helping these people. |
Hello, my name is Maria. I am from Argentina. I wrote before. “Give a Little Bit” is my favorite song. I wish I could make a lot of things for the victims. I like that Roger are making something for they. He is a good guy. The power of his song is fantastic. All the best, Love you Roger wherever you are. |
I tuned over to the Cartoon Network this morning, and happened to see the “Give A Little Bit” PSA. It‘s wonderful to know so many people are uniting to help with tsunami relief. The song has always been very special to me personally. Just hearing it on the radio lifted my spirits when I was a confused, angry and depressed teen. I know it will also touch many others and encourage them to “Give ” of themselves. I hope to be able to catch the other PSAs as they air. Let me know if there‘s anything I can help with... |
Hi there. I just wanted to know how/when we could purchase this newly recorded song. I also wanted to pass on a message to Roger that I hope he is well and things are working out for him. |
In the UK at the moment, there are lots of events going on with regards to Tsunami fund raising. All of the events tend to be involved with specific charities. The BBC are occasionally broadcasting some of these events as are most of the media here, but I would have thought that one of the major charities themselves would be thrilled to use Give A Little Bit on their campaigns. I would be delighted to contact the 12 main charities for you with Roger‘s offer and if they have an interest, just put them in direct contact with you. My brother is currently acting as an official photographer for SAVE THE CHILDREN & OXFAM as part of the DEC Tsunami Earthquake Appeal organisation, so it would be straightforward to contact the appropriate personnel. The version you sent is fantastic and I am sure that either this version or any other version would be welcomed. Please let me know & I will get on the case straight away. |
My heart goes out to not only the victims in this disaster but also to all the kindred spirits who felt the need to help in any way they could. It's wonderful when the whole world comes together, putting aside all negativity, to help those in need. Each of us want to help as best as we can and it‘s inspiring to know that Roger donated his signature song to be used as needed. I see a beautiful rainbow arching across Indonesia. |
Give a little bit, that’s all you have to do, even if it's just a prayer, no matter how great or small it all adds up. So to give a little bit helps. |
The song Give A Little Bit has meant many things to me personally over the years. First of all, I see it as one of the best well-written and crafted pieces of music that Thank God has stood the test of time. Even to this day, hearing it brings a huge smile to my face, and almost always stops me dead in my tracks BIG TIME!! Ironically enough, the song came out at what was at the time a rather turbulent period for my family and me. At that time, my kid sister was fighting the battle of her young life against a rare for of childhood cancer. Give A Little Bit was to say the least, the right song to come along at exactly the right time. If Roger or any of the guys in the band ever read these posts, I would tell them to not for one second ever underestimate the power that your music has, and continues to have on those of us who listen. |
Of course a worldwide release of one of the best songs ... the world can show its face in the best possible way now and I hope your dream to release this song worldwide will come true. I’ll buy it for certain to listen to it and to help the people in Asia. |
Keep going sending your message. |
Great idea. I liked the song when I first heard it in 1975 when I lived in Venice beach with my sister Darlene and I still love it today. |
I will keep it short and sweet as you are probably so busy. Is there any way possible that we can get Roger to Sydney/Australia for the Wave Aid benefit concert on 29th January 05? It would be so fitting to have him here for the concert. |
Send us a message ... There are many ways you can join with Roger to help the vision of having “Give a Little Bit” be a vehicle to support raising money for the people in southeast Asia who are devastated by the effects of the tsunami. If you want to share your ideas, thoughts or other information about this, please send us a message. |
