Concert at the Civic Theatre, NewCastle Australia, April 12, 2010 - by Aaron MacDonald

Well, It was our last show in Australia tonight, and I'm sure gonna miss being here. Everyone we worked with here from the crew and production, Peter, Michael, Dale. To all the boys from "10CC" (You guys Rock!!) and my Didge teacher Tim. You were all fantastic and helped make our time here in Australia truly wonderful.

It's a constant dilemma being in this business. Traveling to strange and beautiful new countries, and realizing your only there for a short period of time, and that that time is going to be spent in an Airplane, hotel, at the venue engaged in soundcheck and a show. Don't get me wrong, I love my job! I feel like the luckiest man alive being able to travel around the world and play great music to beautiful people. But, a busy tour schedule doesn't allow for a lot of sightseeing! My experience here ...

I love Australia! - Enmore Theatre. Sydney, Australia, April 9th and 10th - Aaron MacDonald

I'm really starting to understand why Canadians and Australians get along so well. Cause your all so Damn cool!! it's funny, there is a familial quality here that I can't quite put my finger on. It's like every second person I meet here has the same openness, and easy going attitude that I'm familiar with in Canada, only you all have this GREAT accent! it's very catchy I might add, so if you catch me "Copping" it during a conversation, I'm not mocking you, it's just contagious.

I love Australia! You have so much to offer here. From the great coastal beaches and Surf Culture. To your metropolitan centers, and beautiful diversity of people, food, Music, Art. Your rich History and Aboriginal culture and heritage. I agree with Roger when he said this evening that " I would love to be here at least a couple months to experience ...

First Australia Show - April 4 - Byron Bay - Musings from Aaron MacDonald

Photo:  Howard Heckers

Well, we finally made it here with all our parts and pieces. Whoopee!!! I was beginning to think we might never get here what with all the flight delays and setbacks, I think we lost about 24 hours in total. No matter, plenty of time to sleep after I'm dead. The time difference is a little whacky though. Now my math is dodgy at best but, if it was 12:00 pm in Toronto then it was 9:00 am in L.A. and I think it is normally a 17 hour difference between L.A. and Sydney (14 for T.O. to Sydney) SO...that means it was 2:00 a.m. in Sydney. BUT!! when we arrived, Australia had not yet observed daylight savings time so the clock was actually ahead one hour. Oh Yeah, we also arrived in Gold Coast and headed to Coolangata and they are an hour apart as well, so.........................I ...

Phoenix Show - Musings from Aaron MacDonald

Roger Hodgson Concert March 28th 2010 @ the J.W. Marriott Resort, Phoenix, Arizona.

I can't get over how beautiful it is here! Driving in from California across the desert was incredible. I saw my first real "Cactus" (lot's of em actually!) just like in the roadrunner cartoons. And being an avid moviegoer,I had dozens of images constantly flowing through my head of Clint Eastwood " Shootin the Bad guy," and wondering if any of the Bushes out there sounded like "Randy Newman" from Amigos, or making sure there wasn't some menacing transport truck grill pasted to my rearview mirror like in "Duel".  It's amazing what wanders into your head after a couple hours of being purged by the deserts beauty..................Oh yeah, I gotta play tonight!

Well, we were outside in a manicured courtyard flanked by palm trees, ficus, oleander and other carefully placed tropical wonders. Not to mention a waterfall in behind us! (serene under all circumstances except soundcheck unfortunately) The show was good. I mean ...
