Toulouse, France ~ July 2, 2013

Enjoy this review from Roger's show last night in Toulouse, France. Approximate English translation here. Original review in French is on link below.

"Roger Hodgson was able to measure, once again, the extraordinary bond that his miraculous songs weave with his audience, representing some nostalgic soundtrack of a lost youth."

Roger Hodgson Still Gives It All

There are few artists who can offer such a repertoire: "Logical Song," "It's Raining Again," "School," "Dreamer." The Roger Hodgson concert last night at the Casino Barrière in Toulouse, had the makings of jukebox gold. Alternating unstoppable songs ("Breakfast in America") and intimate reflections in bright melodies ("Child of Vision" was shocking), the former singer of Supertramp, with the radiant smile and high-pitched voice, repeated the triumph of his last visit here, on 26 September 2010 - a multi-instrumentalist sidekick, Aaron Macdonald and sober lighting effects. When you have songs that are interpreted "as when they were ...

Rochester TV Station Talks to Roger Hodgson Fan

php/Camine copy.jpg

Rochester, N.Y. -- Carmine Buquicchio said the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival was a must-see event.

"I had to come to Rochester," said the Long Island resident.

He had missed two previous performances of Wednesday's headliner, Roger Hodgson.

He was so geared up for the concert, the only thing outside of Jazz Street he got to see was one of the area's many malls.

"I'm saving Niagara Falls for my honeymoon," said Buquicchio.

Roger Headlined Rochester Festival - June 26, 2013

Supertramp has survived into the 21st century as twin bands of different fathers. Headlining the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival on Wednesday is the version led by Roger Hodgson, who wrote most of the hits, and is the voice on classic rock station. Hodgson (who doesn’t own the name Supertramp and can’t use it on tour) plays at 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

Liverpool, England ~ May 28, 2013 ~ Reflection by Chris Maguire

It had been almost two years to the day since Roger Hodgson last played the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool.

His previous visit happened to fall on a Sunday night, the day before a public bank holiday at the end of May 2011 and the crowd that night were certainly "up for it”.

Possibly bolstered with thoughts of a day off work the following day, the bar at the historic Philharmonic pub over the road from the concert venue was packed to the rafters and the sun was out. People were enjoying themselves and that atmosphere carried itself over to the show.
On that occasion Roger received a rapturous reception and various standing ovations during a wondrous evening of nostalgia and emotions which left a crowd stunned and overcome by what they had just witnessed.

After such a long time away from performing in Liverpool, (It had been over 30 years since a Supertramp line ...

Birmingham, England ~ May 26, 2013 ~ Reflection by Toni Amey

While mingling amongst the crowd and talking with other concert goers in Birmingham, I was once again touched by the number of people who described themselves as "life-long" fans and told stories of how Roger's music has "been there" for them when they faced life's biggest challenges.

There were people who were attending their first concert ever. And others who brought people they loved so they could share the "magic" of Roger. Needless to say, nobody went home disappointed.

For the third night in a row, I saw grown men sobbing and young children dancing. Yes, that is the magic of Roger.  The magical moment for me? Without a doubt it was when they did "The Meaning". Upon their return from the venue "requested" intermission, the stage was empty and quiet. And then, from somewhere off stage, you hear the first notes of "The Meaning". And then from out of the ...
