Backstage Pass from Carcassonne, France ~ August 1, 2015
WOW, what a day. We finally arrived at this historical venue in Carcassonne after an 18-hour bus ride from the show in Germany last night. We were warmly greeted by the French Fan Club and hugs were all around.
What a crowd! A true goosebumps moment at the start of the show was when the whole audience rose to their feet the moment Roger came out on stage. The amphitheater was full and the applause was so loud that most likely it could be heard throughout the village. Even the press photographers turned around to get photos of the audience, many of whom were on their feet throughout the night honoring Roger and his music.
There have been many requests tonight for Roger to play songs from his album, Open the Door, and that he did. The More I Look, Along Came Mary, and Death and a Zoo are some of the songs that were played off this album that was recorded in France. The crowd was clearly moved and enjoyed hearing these songs, some of which are not often performed. And of course all the classic hits that everyone sang along to stirred the hearts and memories of so many.
The clapping and chanting toward the end of the show went on and on. The full moon in the background was the perfect backdrop to a most magical show.
Next we will be heading to Spain for three shows. We are looking forward to playing for our Spanish friends and fans.

After each show I'm eagerly waiting for backstage pass here on tour blog because so I can experience a piece of that unique atmosphere of those happy who could be there in person. And this one was really unique. Wow! It seems to me I can hear well deserved applause and see the happiness on the faces of audience who loves Roger so much.
Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy the love and friendship that await you in Spain!
I have been yesterday in Carcassone with my wife and two friends. I would like to thank you Roger and his band for this incredible show. But also driven by the fantastic atmosphere and the people who listen the concert. It was magic. It was my second concert I have seen from Roger. But this one was the top of the top. We were really touched by him and his band. The songs are unforgettable. I am a fan of Supertramp and Roger since 30 years. And what a luck to see him still playing better than ever. Thanks, thanks for this. Also his french is not bad. I am german and learned speaking french. This is not easy.
Greeting from Thomas
I listened to Supertramp and Roger since I was 8 years old in 1979, day when my father brought back home "breakfast in America", "crisis ? what crisis ?" and "crime of the century" from the U.S. Since then I've never stopped listening... My mother, and my two boys, 7 and 14 years old were in Carcassonne Saturday night listening to this fantastic "Roger Hodgson & Band" gig, I want to thank you all for this amazing music demonstration, Roger and the band give us a magic time, apart from world and time, great job, vocals, sax, drums, keyboard and bass guitar, where here to make people happy, you are all fantastic, what a performance, the audience was hectic. My two children were amazed too and we all goes back to Bordeaux - where we hope we will listen to you and your band soon - listening to your albums cause my boys asked for ... The new generation is fan too :-)
Keep on having fun playing your music all through the world, we love that :)
Thank you again !
