What a warm welcome we received tonight in Albany, NY at The Egg Performing Arts Center. One of our special guests backstage after the show was a young lady by the name of Philomena who is celebrating her 80th birthday this week. Philomena's daughter, Kristy, won our Facebook contest for two tickets and two backstage passes for the Albany show and Kristy surprised her mom with a photo with Roger after the show. There were smiles all around and what a night to remember for them. We saw three generations in the audience who were all equally enjoying the concert. How wonderful it is for us to see families enjoying Roger's music and creating new memories.
While The Egg is a very unique venue, it has great acoustics and a very intimate feeling to it. Before we even left the venue, several people asked if we would return. We certainly hope to! Next stop on the Breakfast in America Tour is Verona, NY on Thursday at the Turning Stone Resort Casino. See you in Verona!
[ Posted bymaria, October 23, 2013 5:58 ] If IŽll live to the eighty as this young lady Philomena ( God bless her! ) meeting with Roger and his songs will be the most beautiful gift for me.
In such a case this means for me a guarantee of couple years of permanent joy and expectations...
[ Posted byChris Dowling, October 23, 2013 8:17 ] GREAT SHOW. Thanks Roger! And the rest of the band. 2 things though. What's up with only playing half of Sister Moonshine? I whistled my lips off to Easy Does It and deserve the full Sister Moonshine! :)
And this may have been the venue but between songs they would turn some lights onto the audience that were quite bright. And then during many songs they left those lights on. Very distracting and it took away from a lot of enjoyment.
Otherwise it was great experience to finally see these songs performed. Thank you so much.
