Backstage Pass from Brisbane, AU

php/2013-03-30 copy.jpeg

The theatre in Brisbane tonight was a standing bar type venue with a balcony overlooking the audience and stage.  The vibe was high from the beginning.  The crowd was already cheering before Roger came out on stage and they proceeded to sing along from the very first song and kept singing all night long.

Roger opened his second set with Child of Vision and it was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.  When the song ended, everyone erupted into their local soccer chant – "ollie ollie, oi oi oi” and later chanted "Roger, Roger, Roger "– the audience definitely found their voice tonight.

It is really cool playing in different flavors of venues all over the world.  I personally loved the energy of this standing venue.  People really enjoyed dancing and moving during the concert.  Tomorrow Roger and his band will be performing at the Bluesfest in Byron Bay – one of the most beautiful places on the planet.  Can’t wait!

Linda thank you for the good news you give us at every concert of Roger. Soon, take good care of yourself, your health God bless you. France friendship

Excellent concert last night by Roger & the superb band. Great sound also, but a licensed venue is not the ideal setting for his classic songs. It was good for the rocking & rolling sing along hits, but not good for the quieter, symphonic type of songs. Too noisy from some inebriated fans & hearing the constant chatter from the bar area during the quieter moments was a little annoying. Very classy performance though, hopefully next time the Convention Centre at Brisbane's South Bank will be the venue!

We had an absolute ball last night, we loved the venue, felt very intimate. Brought back so many childhood memories as all 6 of my brothers and sisters grew up listening to them and we were all there last night except 2.

A truly fabulous night Linda - thought that Roger sang with the enthusiasm of someone 30 years younger, his diction was near perfect (which is why we all sang along), and we enjoyed his interaction with the crowd and the band, particularly Aaron Mac who is an outstanding musican. We trust Roger returns to Brisbane again soon. Dan (still in disbelief after standing for the concert just 10 feet away from Roger!!)

Agree Linda - an awesome evening and an incredible performance from Roger. So awesome that I went down to Sydney for his concert on 4/4.
Another excellent concert (awesome !!) from Roger. For me the scales tip slightly in favour of the Brisbane concert, because I was standing about 10 feet from Roger and it was a more intimate setting.
