Emmen, The Netherlands, Retropop, 09 June 2012 by Frans Terhorst
At Bospop Weert in 2011, Roger was the sensation for the Saturday night. So, when we heart that Roger and his bad were coming to Retro Pop, Emmen in 2012, the tickets were quickly ordered. After having visited several concerts in Germany, now again a concert in Holland. At the beginning of the show/concert Roger already said to the fans that he likes to come more to Holland. One concert each year is indeed not enough. Also, Roger said that he like to play for three hours for us but only one hour is available.
I came to Emmen with my son Pim. Since 2,5 year the Supertramp music and also the beautiful solo numbers are heard all day in our house. Starting during showering in the morning, in the car, or during a walk.
A visit to Roger's concert is always emotional because the songs are written from the heart. That's why we are really touched by his wonderful music. We enjoyed all the big hits in Emmen, including the emotional "Hide in Your Shell," and my favorite, "Dreamer," and of course, "Give a Little Bit." Almost at the end of the concert the masterly "Fool's Overture" was very impressive.
The whole evening it was very cloudy and we expected it to start raining at any moment. You won't believe it but only when Roger sang "It's Raining Again" did some drizzling rain come down.
After the concert we were so lucky to have a meet and greet with Roger. We can only say that we are deeply touched by the beautiful music and the very friendly words of Roger. Thank you so much, Linda, Shakti and Roger for this unforgettable and emotional evening. We re not sure whether we can wait until 2013 for the next concert or that we will visit one of the coming concerts in Germany or Belgium this year. Thank you so much!!
