Arbon 26.8. 2011
I came to Arbon on Friday at noon and I've survived an unforgettable couple of hours with Linda, who gave me insight into the entire organization of one of such events.
Thank you, Linda, for your confidence!
Then I met with my German friends Anita , Markus and Ellen. I admired as they was able stand nine hours at the sun just below the stage to not lose "the best places" and so waited for "our" Roger.
His performance was preceded by artists with a bit of other kinds of music. And ear plugs was really a necessity.
Roger has performed that evening as the fourth.
One hour before his show there was a sharp change of weather, and its begining was shifted by 20 minutes later, due to strong wind.
When finally organizers stated Roger on scene, I heard in the dark : "All this waiting was worth for this moment ... Now it comes the music!" ...
And when they offered the ear plugs again, the answer was " No, thank you, now is not needed."
In the audience there was visible change.
People fell silent, become more attentive, gentler.
They listened. Even those who were pretty tired not only because of the sun...remained standing " mute " and without movement ( for some really a feat!)
They sang, rejoiced, but in completely different kind of atmosphere.
It was something similar as when you switch the camera to detail.
Yes, this is the power of Roger's personality. This is his ability to touch a good place in the human heart.
Since it was the penultimate concert of Roger in Europe this year, we wanted to say goodbye.
Saleswoman in flower shop warned me that the flowers do not last in that heat. But offered me a help, and so I marched with a bucket in my arms through the entire Arbon. The flowers survived. But lively is also joy and happiness.
Now I even more and better understand the expression of my friends , that much more stronger than Rogerīs music is every short moment with him.
Thanks for such a oportunity in Arbon.
Thank you, Roger!
Hope see you next year again!
God bless you!
