The waking up to a day of concert is always different from all other days. Also was so this Saturday. The estimated time of departure was by two in the afternoon. After  a quick lunch. The weather was excellent, and  only some traffic problems would delay my arrive on the estimated time of concentration of the group of fan club, because the anxiety and illusion with which was led me to accelerate the car to undue limits …

The 320 km quickly left behind. The group met as expected and we were greeted by the organization (so great) as had been previously arranged. Not being motard (so little know ride a bike ...), I must say that I felt very well in engaging what the organization offers to all visitors. There is respect and code between participants. When I asked the collaboration of the public to raise the banner of receipt to Roger, from all without exception I received the best collaboration. For all that people, my many thanks.

Midnight still came away, and had steps in that we wanted to do. Besides the identification that gave us the fan club t-shirts, we wanted to choose the best place to put the banner welcome Roger. Was quite difficult to find the location. On the one hand we wanted everyone to see, on the other, the important was that Roger could see it. And that time of night, there was another location with light that wasn't around the stage and tapped for it…

The afternoon was conducted with wet t-shirts … and also rolled out, in the bodies of the participants. Between winning and overdue, all participants were very welcome by the audience. Also present here was the "democratic spirit" of the event. Later came the shows expected by the crowd: Prize-winning the motorbikes; erotic spectacle; concert at 22 h a Spanish group, and shortly after midnight, kicked off the show of the year in Portugal: Roger Hodgson with band.

Beginning with TLWH. Explosive Reaction of more than 20,000 spectators, recognizing the chords and the excellent sound that fulfilled the open space that served to the audience.  There was no sound check, so the sound that would hear would be a surprise. Was agreed that between the first and the second song, would be raised our welcome banner:  "Welcome Roger – Mr. Supertramp".

So we did. Pity that we did not succeed in that everyone present to see, but it wasn't at all possible. GALB was the next song, with all peers to dance, sing, recalled other times that are always present times. For this show, the alignment of songs were selected to be touched with the power that a band can transmit. Maybe exception of Lovers in the wind (Roger’s solo album "In the eye of the storm"), all songs were written by Roger when still was part of Supertramp. All hits that made of Supertramp a supergroup were there: School, Lady, The Logical Song, Breakfast in America, Dreamer, it's rainning again, Fool's Overture, and in a more classic anda relaxed style, Lord is it mine and (one of my favorite) If everyone was listening.

The hour and a half of concert flew away as if it were an instant. A magical instant.    Already passed the two in the morning when we had the opportunity to personally thank our Master once again, for the gift of his talent and his generosity.   The journey was coming to an end. A journey filled with satisfaction and excitement. It was time for farewells and back home.   Some of us take the long way home, others stays around, but all with the heart full.  So thank you so much Roger.

I’m just thinking when it will be the next time?
