Approximately 80,000 people joined Roger at the main stage on the Plains of Abraham where France lost to England in the 1700's.
It was beautiful to look out on the sea of people with the little red lights flashing on their chests (the festival passes have little red light. ) This festival has been going on 43 years and 150,000 people get a pass for the whole 8 day event.
Daniel G, director of the festival, came back to thank Roger after the show with his daughter- they both loved the show. She was probably about 17 and said she and her friends love Roger's music and know most all his songs. Her favorite is Logical.
It was a great and unique show. It started out with some technical glitches and didn't seem as high a start as Ottawa. Sylvain Cossette’s rocking out 70's hits set before Roger's kind of left people spent and there was nothing keeping their energy up during the change over.
They were definitely happy to see Roger and he talked to them a lot in French and in English - and they loved this. And his set was calmer in a way than what I saw of the end of Sylvain's. It was much deeper and more intimate, personal, and spiritual. It was emotionally captivating and the energy blasted open more after Dreamer when the crowd changed “ole ole” and then the audience became more alive during Fools, and then very alive for School and Raining Again. Hearts were full and people went away happy and uplifted.
Talking afterwards one of the key peole said he was so touched by Roger's presence- by the man- by the heart connection he had with the audience.
He also said he learned something from Roger- he'd take his guitar out in nature and play (Roger had told the story of when he went out camping in nature and wrote Even in the Quietest Moments.)

Saw this concert and he was absolutely amazing. Voice was exactly as it was I first heard him in the 70's. This band he had was also as good as the original Supertramp. Keyboard and sax were phenomenal. Hope he records a DVD with this band somewhere. The Montreal DVD is good but with this band behind him, Roger gets an A . I'll buy the first DVD if he puts one out with this band. If you missed this concert you really missed a great great performance!
Hope he can tour with Rick and Supertramp, Seems like Styx, Pink Floyd, and others have a falling out and we lose. The clock is ticking. CMON! Lets work it out. We miss this great music!!!!
