I love Australia! - Enmore Theatre. Sydney, Australia, April 9th and 10th - Aaron MacDonald

I'm really starting to understand why Canadians and Australians get along so well. Cause your all so Damn cool!! it's funny, there is a familial quality here that I can't quite put my finger on. It's like every second person I meet here has the same openness, and easy going attitude that I'm familiar with in Canada, only you all have this GREAT accent! it's very catchy I might add, so if you catch me "Copping" it during a conversation, I'm not mocking you, it's just contagious.

I love Australia! You have so much to offer here. From the great coastal beaches and Surf Culture. To your metropolitan centers, and beautiful diversity of people, food, Music, Art. Your rich History and Aboriginal culture and heritage. I agree with Roger when he said this evening that " I would love to be here at least a couple months to experience all that this great continent and country has to offer" I think I'm paraphrasing, but regardless, those are genuinely my sentiments. I really feel a connection here, and it's making this little tour of ours feel very loving and familiar to me. I am really enjoying playing for you all here in Australia, and feel truly grateful to be here.

Each show was so unique from the other, but neither lacked in quality, integrity or enthusiasm either from the audience or us the performers. It never ceases to amaze me how each show is so different from the next regardless how consistent our set list is. Some of you scream, dance and clap. While others silently gaze and drink in our performance with eager souls. Either way is appreciated most highly by us and we feel your response. Don't forget that you the audience are as much a part of the experience as us the performers. It's a give and take situation, and a privilege to be a part of. So thank you to all who came out.

And just in case you were at tonight's Second show in Sydney, and were wondering what all the laughing and shenanigans on stage were about. Every night before the Show, Roger carefully prepares a set list.Usually the basic song order falls into the same line only subtly peppered with a new song here and there to keep things fresh, And Roger, being a man to feel the moment, RARELY adheres to the carefully planned road map for the evening. Well, tonight's set list had an extra 20 minutes worth of material on it, and with a strict curfew in place we had no chance of playing all those songs. The question: Which songs is he going to play? Now Roger doesn't holler out song titles to me across the stage, so after he took his detour into the unknown I was left madly trying to figure out what song he was going to play next, hence which instrument to play. I've actually try to read his mind some nights in my struggle to try and be the consummate professional, and always know where to zig when Roger zags. But alas, tonight he vested me! I was completely in the dark at one point (it was either gonna be "Puppet Dance or Child of Vision") Roger knew it, then started to mess with me by pretending to move to a different instrument, and we both lost it. What Fun!!

Well, it's off to NewCastle tomorrow, and I can't wait to play for them. Till then...............    Aaron
