Backstage Pass from Brasilia, Brazil ~ October 24, 2014

Another very different show here in Brasilia. It was our third time performing at the beautiful Convention Center Ulysses Guimarães, where Roger last performed in 2012. The crowd at tonight’s sold out show was so happy to have Roger back. The highlight of the show for me was when Roger told his audience "This is the only city here in Brazil where I am performing this song" and then he started playing the first chords of "Even in the Quietest Moments.” The whole venue was in utter silence during this majestic performance. Roger also performed two other songs tonight that he has yet to play on his tour of Brazil - A Soapbox Opera and Don’t Leave Me Now, which is very popular here in Brazil. Many people were very visibly moved.

Right after the encore of Give a Little Bit, faces broke into big smiles and voices were raised and the ...

WOW!! – Brazil is on fire with passion. What a night here in Sao Paulo. Roger played the Espaço das Américas for the first time. What a beautiful venue to match the beautiful audience. It was music to everyone’s ears when the audience broke into the familiar Brazilian soccer chant after BIA, Logical and others. Great energy in the venue tonight. Two more Brazil shows to go – tomorrow Brasilia and then we cap it off in Belo Horizonte!

See you there - Linda!!

Roger’s sold out performance in Vitória left a big mark on the city and in people’s hearts. It was the first time people here have seen a show where the audience demanded two encores. The final song of the first encore was "It’s Raining Again” and when Roger struck the first chords, confetti shot out into the audience and the crowd held up their umbrellas and sang and danced. When Roger left the stage, the crowd kept chanting and chanting. They were not going to stop until Roger returned. The venue almost shook with applause when Roger and his band returned to the stage and again played "Breakfast in America.”

Another highlight of the show was when Roger played Babaji for the promoter and his son, celebrating his 16th birthday today. The son began playing piano nine years ago because he was inspired by Roger’s music. We all fell in love ...

Backstage Pass from Rio de Janeiro ~ October 18, 2014

Vivo Rio!!!! The show tonight was as electrifying as when we played here in 2012! It’s always fun to return to a venue and see familiar things such as the band’s names on their backstage wall of fame.  Before the show, Roger signed a Breakfast in America album for a 16-year-old fan who came tonight with his father and he was beaming from ear to ear. From the first song, the whole audience was singing along. A young graphic artist gifted Roger with a t-shirt with some lyrics for Sister Moonshine on it, so he did a special dedication to her and also for a special friend celebrating her birthday tomorrow. Toward the end of the show, the audience broke out in the familiar olė chant after Fool’s Overture and then Roger opened the encore with HAD A DREAM - fans love hearing him jamming on the electric guitar. What a ...

Backstage Pass from Curitiba, Brazil ~ October 17, 2014

We returned to Curitiba today and saw many familiar faces that we saw on our first trip in 2012 to this beautiful concert hall, Teatro Positivo. Brazil is beginning to feel like home – it’s Roger’s fourth time performing in this country. Tonight Roger walked out to greet the people and shook hands with some in the audience. The warmth of the people here touch his heart. He was impressed how they understand his English.

What a day it’s been - our five hour bus ride today turned into a seven hour journey due to a very tragic accident that we encountered on the freeway. We are all so grateful to be here and able to bring so many smiles to people’s faces. Our equipment all finally arrived before the first show yesterday in Florinaópolis, the only thing we are still waiting for is Bryan’s suitcase. Fortunately there was a cool mall ...
