Roger Hodgson National Canadian Tour – Take the Long Way Home Roger Hodgson has taken the long way home back to Canada and announced his first national tour in 23 years. This is one of the two shows Roger will be performing on this tour with a full symphony orchestra and choir. His dream and the dream of many come to life when they hear him being backed by talented members of the symphony. When Roger wrote Fools Overture for instance, he could hear all the orchestra parts in his head and he has commented that he gets goose bumps every time he hears his songs come to life in this setting. This much-anticipated tour follows his heart-warming connection with his Canadian fans when he mentored and performed with the Canadian Idols this past August. They couldn't have asked for a better mentor, as Roger Hodgson has been recognized as one of the most gifted composers, songwriters and lyricists of our times. His upcoming tour is a celebration of his reunion with his fans and his newly released debut DVD; Take the Long Way Home, Live in Montreal. As on the DVD, Roger will be performing his classic hit songs including Give a Little Bit, The Logical Song, Dreamer, Take the Long Way Home, Breakfast In America, School, as well as his solo classics and some previously unreleased songs. While not everyone remembers the name Roger Hodgson, no one forgets his signature voice and his classic hit songs that have become the soundtrack for our lives. Hodgson co-founded Supertramp, one of the greatest rock' n roll bands ever in 1969 and was with them for 14 years. He left the band in 1983 to follow his heart, live a simple lifestyle in nature, watch his children grow up and pursue his spiritual values. During the time that Hodgson led the band, Supertramp sold well over 60 million albums. In Canada alone, sales for Crime of the Century and Breakfast in America reached Diamond status - 1 in every Canadians owned both albums. Hodgson is a Multi-talented musician, being a keyboardist, guitarist and pianist, who is currently performing solo and orchestra concerts worldwide. His Canadian tour is Oct 27- Nov 22. |
